Moisés Díaz

Sonnet

Don’t wanna title a poem Iguazú Falls or
think about your sublet ad no good furniture to fuck on, but
trust that I do plus prickly pear tea
plus a new Smeg four slot toaster
all the gossip you’d be the first to hear like
my lunch with Clementina Suárez’s niece
written in an unpublished journal how
right before a poetry recital at some theatre
Roque Dalton making out fondling a man’s ass—
grand piano speeding down the ramp
angry owner asking who’s going to pay for this
first woman in honduras to wear shorts to wear lipstick
that wrote my favorite poem A Worker Dies replies
I wouldn’t even give you a single plucked hair from my pussy
